As the second week of the new year comes to a close, so does intern Sofia Szymanski’s first week at Thread. Since beginning her internship last Monday, Sofia has worked on multiple projects, all of which have given her a deeper understanding of the professional world of marketing.
Wrapping up her week in an eventful manner, Sofia helped Thread with a media preview of Buff City Soap’s newest location. Buff City Soap creates and sells bath products that are handcrafted, free of harsh ingredients, and full of nourishing, plant-based minerals. Not only do they sell beautifully made bath products, but Buff City Soap makes everything in-store, which gives customers a unique experience by allowing them to see exactly what goes into the products they love. During this media preview, Sofia rolled up her sleeves to make bath bombs in the Soap Makery.
“It was an incredible experience and a perfect way to end my first week at Thread,” she explained. Buff City Soap’s friendly and engaging atmosphere is memorable and creates long-lasting connections with its customers. Their new Toledo location opened to the public on January 16.
Before helping with Buff City Soap’s media preview on Thursday, Sofia spent the beginning of the week writing a press release concerning her new position.
“This press release served as my first writing assignment at Thread and was an exciting opportunity to strengthen and showcase my abilities,” Sofia said.
She was also tasked with writing a social media announcement of her position. “I wrote it with passion because I enjoy any opportunity to create,” she explained.
For another assignment, Sofia was asked to proofread a document about a client’s talking points and frequently asked questions. She saw this as an opportunity to learn more about Thread’s work and took great care when reviewing it.
While initially nervous about her first week and assignments, Sofia found it easy to settle into her role and connect with Thread’s team. “I am excited for the opportunity to work with and learn from them, and I am looking forward to the many assignments and opportunities this position will hold,” Sofia said.
